Beijing issues the first road test license for autonomous shuttle buses to WeRide

WeRide's unmanned shuttle bus obtained an autonomous driving road test license in Beijing on January 18, allowing it to operate within an area of 60 square kilometers. This is the first time that Beijing has customized relevant policies for unmanned shuttle buses and clarified their definition standards. WeRide's autonomous minibus is the world's first mass-produced fully unmanned vehicle without a steering wheel, brakes, or cockpit. It can reach a maximum speed of 40 kilometers per hour and supports V2X functions. Previously, WeRide had obtained a road test license for autonomous taxis in Beijing and had deployed autonomous minibuses in multiple cities.
