STMicroelectronics launches new dToF lidar module

STMicroelectronics recently announced the launch of a high-performance direct time-of-flight (dToF) 3D LiDAR module VL53L9 with 2300 detection zones, mainly for smartphone camera auxiliary functions and AR/VR devices. The module integrates a dual-scanning flood illuminator to detect small objects and edges, and capture 2D infrared (IR) images and 3D depth map information.
