Global semiconductor silicon wafer sales have grown steadily, with the Chinese market performing particularly well

According to the data of "China Semiconductor Silicon Wafer Annual Report 2024", between 2016 and 2023, the global semiconductor silicon wafer (excluding SOI) sales increased from US$7.209 billion to US$12.129 billion, with an average annual compound growth rate of 7.72%. At the same time, the sales of semiconductor silicon wafers in mainland China increased from US$500 million to US$1.732 billion, with an average annual compound growth rate of 19.43%, exceeding the global average. It is expected that global silicon wafer shipments will increase by 5% year-on-year in 2024, and the global semiconductor silicon wafer market will reach US$16.02 billion by 2029.
