Intel relaunches Altera brand, prepares for IPO

Intel Corporation announced that it will rename its FPGA group to Altera and plans to return to the US stock market in the next few years. Altera was acquired by Intel for $16.7 billion in 2015. Currently, Altera is targeting the market opportunity between ASIC and GPU chips, which is expected to continue to grow as artificial intelligence hardware continues to change.
