Synopsys and TSMC Collaborate to Optimize Photonic Integrated Circuit Processes

Synopsys and TSMC announced that they will conduct extensive EDA and IP collaboration on advanced process node designs to advance the field of photonic integrated circuits. This collaboration has been applied to a range of artificial intelligence (AI), high-performance computing (HPC) and mobile designs. The latest result of the collaboration is a jointly optimized photonic integrated circuit (PIC) flow that will meet the needs of silicon photonic technology for higher power, performance and transistor density.
