Nansha Wafer has invested in the construction of a silicon carbide project in Nansha District, Guangzhou, with a total investment of 900 million yuan. After reaching full production, the annual output can reach 200,000 substrate wafers. In addition, Nansha Wafer has also established a SiC expansion base project in Jinan, Shandong, which is expected to reach full production in 2025. Another company, Xin Yue Neng, has also invested 3.5 billion yuan in the construction of a silicon carbide chip project in Nansha District, Guangzhou. The first phase will build a production line with an annual output of 240,000 6-inch silicon carbide wafers, and the second phase will build a production line with an annual output of 240,000 8-inch silicon carbide wafer chips. At present, the Xin Yue Neng project has been completed and put into production, with a monthly production capacity of 10,000 silicon carbide wafers. Automotive-grade and industrial-grade chips have been successfully taped out and sent for sampling, and the chip performance parameters are excellent.
