Apple plans to launch two self-developed modem chips in the next two years

Apple plans to launch the second-generation modem chip "Ganymede" in 2026, hoping that its performance can be close to Qualcomm's chips. This second-generation modem chip will first appear in the high-end iPhone 18 series and will be used in high-end iPads in 2027. Apple also plans to launch a third modem chip in 2027, code-named "Prometheus", hoping that its performance and artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities will surpass Qualcomm and support the next generation of satellite networks.
