Wolfspeed leads the transformation of 8-inch silicon carbide wafers

Wolfspeed, a major American silicon carbide manufacturer, has begun mass production of 8-inch silicon carbide wafers. Domestic manufacturers are actively following suit, but the output is limited. UMC plans to launch an 8-inch wafer production line by the end of 2025, and is expected to increase shipments. Taiwan's GlobalWafers and Shengxin Materials Technology are also actively deploying 8-inch wafer production.
