South Korea's SK Semiconductor achieves breakthrough in GaN devices

Recently, South Korea's SK Semiconductor Co., Ltd. has made an important breakthrough in the field of GaN devices and announced that it will complete the development of 650V GaN HEMT by the end of the year. SK Semiconductor was established in 2020 and focuses on the research and development of 8-inch GaN process technology. SK Semiconductor has purchased metal organic chemical vapor deposition (MOCVD) equipment from Aixtron in the third quarter of 2023 to accelerate the commercialization of 8-inch GaN foundry services, with the goal of achieving this goal between 2025 and 2026.
