Mercedes-Benz is strengthening the construction of its R&D team in China, especially the software and smart cockpit teams, in order to better undertake the software development tasks of MB.OS. Currently, the company's Beijing and Shanghai R&D centers have more than 600 R&D personnel, and this number is still increasing. MB.OS is an intelligent cockpit system developed by Mercedes-Benz for the next generation of electric vehicles, aiming to catch up with the most advanced electric vehicle software architecture on the market. However, the development progress of the system is currently behind schedule. It was originally planned that MB.OS would be mass-produced with the new generation of Mercedes-Benz CLA on the MMA platform, but due to the development progress of MB.OS, the mass production time has been postponed to September this year.
