Geely is actively developing and producing its own batteries, with an investment of over 130 billion yuan

In recent years, Geely has been active in independent research and development and production of batteries. According to statistics, since March 2019, Geely has invested in 12 battery projects in China, with a cumulative investment of more than 130 billion. Among them, the four projects in Yingtan, Tonglu, Yancheng and Quzhou that will be implemented in 2022 account for about 31% of the total investment. For example, the Quzhou Jidian Sandian Intelligent Manufacturing Factory was signed on May 28, 2022 and started construction on July 18. After full production, it will have the production capacity of battery cells, batteries, electric drives and energy storage systems.
