ROHM is a semiconductor and electronic component manufacturer founded in 1958. Starting with the production of resistors, the company's main product, after more than 60 years of development, has become a world-renowned semiconductor manufacturer located in Kyoto, Japan. ROHM Semiconductor has 95 R&D or production bases around the world, with a total of more than 23,000 employees and 39 subsidiaries. It is a global high-tech company engaged in semiconductor design and production. In terms of products, ROHM has a wide range of products, including power management, motor driver chips, general-purpose ICs such as memory, operational amplifiers, sensor ICs such as acceleration sensors, illuminance sensors, color sensors, microcontrollers (formerly LAPIS), wireless communication modules, silicon carbide, gallium nitride, laser diodes, etc. In recent years, ROHM Semiconductor has increased its layout of chips for car lights. ROHM was the first in the world to start mass production of SiC MOSFET in 2010, and then the first in the world to start mass production of trench structure SiC MOSFET (3rd generation) in 2015. The 4th generation SiC MOSFET, which was developed in 2020, is a product that achieves the industry's ultra-low on-resistance without sacrificing short-circuit withstand time. Currently, it can supply not only bare chips but also discrete packaged products.
