The closure of Cruise Autonomous Driving marks the failure of traditional car manufacturers to develop L4

Cruise, the L4 company focused on Robotaxi, has come to an end. After the departure of senior executives, employee layoffs, and business terminations, Cruise's fate has changed. GM announced this strategic change in December last year and began large-scale layoffs today. About 50% of employees will be laid off, and the rest will be transferred to GM's self-research department to develop mass-produced intelligent driving. Although it is officially called a "personal self-driving car," this is actually still an L2+ product, similar to Tesla's progressive route.
