Taiwan's exports to Mexico surged 479% year-on-year to a record high of $2.7 billion in January as tech companies accelerated shipments of graphics processing units (GPUs) in a supply chain shift. The growth was driven primarily by shipments of GPUs, a key component for artificial intelligence (AI) servers. Taiwan said in a statement that the surge was mainly due to supply chain shifts, as companies like Hon Hai Precision Industry (Foxconn) and Wistron have been building factories in Mexico to assemble AI servers for shipment to the United States.
