It is understood that AMD will provide second-generation Versal series chip samples in the first half of 2025, and mass-produced chips will be available at the end of 2025. AMD's second-generation Versal adaptive SoC includes AI acceleration units, programmable logic units (FPGAs), control units (CPUs), computing units (GPUs), and enhanced functional safety and information security modules. On April 9, facing the era of central computing, AMD launched the second-generation Versal adaptive SoC. The chip uses a 7nm process and has a built-in Arm Cortex-A78AE application processor with a computing power of up to 200.3k DMIPS, as well as an Arm Cortex-R52 real-time processor and a new generation of AI engines (AIE-ML v2). It can provide up to 10 times the scalar computing power of the first-generation Versal adaptive SoC, and the computing power under INT8 reaches 184TOPS. Subaru's next-generation EyeSight system will use the second-generation Versal AI Edge series products, which can realize lane departure warning, adaptive cruise control and other functions.
