Musk published a series of articles on X (original Twitter), criticizing new American car companies, pointing the finger at Rivian and Lucid. Musk said that Rivian's product design is not bad, but what is really difficult for a car company to make a profit is to achieve mass production and positive cash flow. Therefore, Musk predicted that if Rivian does not cut costs significantly, the company will run out of money in about six quarters. He also said that Rivian's executives need to "live in the factory" or the company will die. As for Lucid, Musk made it clear that Lucid's survival is entirely due to the participation of the Saudi Arabian Public Investment Fund (PIF). The Saudi financial sponsor is the only reason it can survive.
