Samsung Electronics is reportedly preparing to introduce DRAM processing equipment at its P4 plant in Pyeongtaek to build a 1c nm DRAM memory production line. The production line is expected to start operation in June next year with the aim of improving the energy efficiency competitiveness of HBM4 memory. Pyeongtaek P4 is a comprehensive semiconductor production center divided into four phases. In the early planning stage, the first phase was NAND flash memory production, the second phase was logic foundry, while the third and fourth phases would focus on DRAM memory production. Currently, Samsung has introduced DRAM production equipment in the first phase of P4, but has suspended the construction of the second phase.
