Former Sharp CEO Tai Jeng-wu sues Foxconn and its founder Terry Gou

According to multiple people familiar with the matter, former Sharp CEO Tai Jeng-wu sued Foxconn (Hon Hai Precision Industry) and its founder Terry Gou, claiming that he was not properly compensated during his tenure as CEO of the Japanese electronics company from 2016 to 2022. Tai Jeng-wu worked at Foxconn for nearly 40 years and retired in 2022. He filed a civil lawsuit against Terry Gou and Foxconn in the New Taipei District Court in December 2024. He demanded more than NT$1 billion (about US$30.37 million, about RMB 220 million) in compensation.
