BMW and Polestar recall vehicles due to brake-by-wire system issues

155
The State Administration for Market Regulation has issued two consecutive recalls, involving the brake-by-wire control systems of BMW and Polestar. Polestar's recall announcement shows that due to a problem with the brake controller software, it may trigger brake control degradation, causing the failure of functions such as electronic brake assist, reduced braking performance, and safety hazards. The Chinese version of the Lyriq uses ZF's IBC integrated brake system (similar to Bosch's IPB), while BMW uses the MK-C2 brake system provided by Continental.
