Meta develops new AI training chip to reduce dependence on Nvidia

282
Meta is reportedly testing its first self-developed artificial intelligence training chip, which is based on the RISC-V architecture and is designed to meet Meta's own computing needs and reduce its dependence on AI chip manufacturers such as Nvidia. The chip is tested after the design is finalized, and each test costs tens of millions of dollars and takes 3 to 6 months to complete. Despite the risk of failure, Meta is committed to reducing operating costs by developing its own AI chips.
