NIO adjusts its mobile phone business to focus on its core automotive business

It is reported that NIO's mobile phone business has undergone major adjustments since December 2024. The mobile phone software team has been merged into the digital cockpit team, and duplicate positions have been streamlined. This adjustment is the result of NIO's implementation of the CBU (cost business unit) mechanism, which aims to ensure that the investment of each department and project can bring corresponding returns by reducing costs and increasing efficiency. Due to the limited performance of self-developed mobile phones in terms of user value enhancement and commercial returns, the mobile phone business is facing contraction, and NIO Phone 3 may not be launched in 2025.
