Nissan signs battery supply agreement with SK On

Nissan Motor Co. signed a battery supply agreement with SK On, a subsidiary of South Korea's SK Group, on March 19 to support its electric vehicle production in the United States. Under the agreement, SK On will provide Nissan with nearly 100GWh of U.S.-made batteries from 2028 to 2033 for the next generation of electric vehicles produced at Nissan's Canton Assembly Plant in Mississippi. SK On currently has two battery factories in the United States and is building four more factories with partners. After full production, SK On's annual production capacity in the United States is expected to exceed 180GWh.
