Polar Semiconductor and Renesas Electronics Enter into Strategic Agreement to Promote Commercialization of GaN Devices

Polar Semiconductor has reached a strategic agreement with Renesas Electronics to license its D-type GaN-on-Si technology and will produce 650V high-voltage GaN-on-Si devices for Renesas and other customers at its 8-inch automotive-grade mass production plant in Minnesota. The two parties will jointly promote the commercial mass production of GaN devices, focusing on key areas such as automotive electronics, data centers, industrial energy, consumer electronics, and aerospace and defense.
