Lexus Shanghai factory planning details revealed

The planning details of the Lexus Shanghai plant have been disclosed. The total construction area of ​​the buildings of the Lexus Shanghai plant is 615,700 square meters, which will be built in three phases. The factory will cover stamping, welding, die-casting, painting, general assembly and battery assembly workshops, as well as office buildings and battery workshops. The Shanghai plant will adopt advanced technologies such as body-integrated die-casting technology and body self-propelled production lines to reduce factory investment and shorten mass production preparation time. The plant will focus on the research and development and production of BEV pure electric models, and is expected to be put into production in 2027, with an initial annual production capacity of 100,000 vehicles.
