Apple to hand over device repair business in India to Tata Group

According to Reuters, Apple has handed over the iPhone and MacBook device repair business in the Indian market to the Tata Group. Previously, this business was handled by the Indian subsidiary of Wistron. The Tata Group will carry out repair services at the iPhone assembly base in Karnataka. As the world's second largest smartphone market, India's demand for repairs is growing rapidly. In 2024, Apple sold about 11 million iPhones in India, and its market share jumped from 1% in 2020 to 7%.
