Toyota recalls several models due to air conditioning control software malfunction and water heater design flaws

GAC Toyota, Toyota Motor (China) Investment, and FAW Toyota have jointly initiated a multi-batch recall involving over 28,000 domestically produced and imported pure electric vehicles. The issues primarily stem from faulty air conditioning control software and design flaws in the water heaters. The air conditioning control software issue affects four models, while the water heater design flaw affects three. The automakers will provide these vehicles with a free upgrade of the air conditioning control computer's internal program to fix the software issue or replace the water heaters with improved electric heaters to fundamentally address the potential problems.
