During Tesla's Q3 2025 earnings call, CEO Elon Musk introduced the company's latest AI5 chip. Reportedly, this chip boasts 40 times the performance of its predecessor, AI4, primarily due to Tesla's vertical integration strategy and innovative design. The AI5 chip employs a "half-reticle design," utilizing high numerical aperture EUV lithography technology, and is expected to achieve a 1.4nm process node.
