Overview of LiDAR Technology Development

The industry has largely reached a consensus on lidar technology solutions, generally following an evolutionary path from mechanical to semi-solid-state to all-solid-state. The light wavelength is 905nm, the laser is evolving from EEL to VECSEL, and the detector is developing from APD to SiPM and SPAD arrays. Among these, SPAD (single-photon avalanche diode) is considered the next-generation detector chip, an iteration of SiPM, offering higher integration, greater design flexibility, and lower cost.
