South Korean chipmakers ramp up production to meet demand for AI servers

As competition intensifies in the global semiconductor industry, South Korean chipmakers are ramping up memory production to meet surging demand for artificial intelligence (AI) servers. Samsung Electronics is gradually increasing the utilization rate of its domestic DRAM and NAND flash memory production lines while expanding output of high-end products such as high-bandwidth memory (HBM). SK Hynix's new M15X chip manufacturing plant in Cheongju is also nearing completion, focusing on DRAM and other AI-oriented memory products.
