ByteDance and Alibaba plan to invest approximately 1.5GW and 2GW of data centers respectively in China by 2026. ByteDance has already completed a 1GW tender, while Alibaba launched its first 500MW tender in April. Both companies are primarily leasing, with some self-construction, and the proportion of domestically produced graphics cards has significantly increased, with liquid cooling becoming a standard feature in the new tenders.
