Italian car market sales analysis

In March 2026, new car sales in Italy reached 185,000 units, a year-on-year increase of 7.6%. Private consumption accounted for 51.2% of sales, becoming the core driver of growth. BEV sales surged 71.7% year-on-year to 16,100 units, accounting for 8.6% of total sales; PHEV sales more than doubled to 17,000 units, accounting for 9.1% of total sales.
