Microchip Technology acquires Neuronix AI Lab

Microchip Technology announced the acquisition of Neuronix AI Labs to strengthen its deployment of high-performance artificial intelligence edge solutions on FPGAs. Neuronix AI Lab's neural network sparsity optimization technology reduces power consumption, size, and computational effort while maintaining high accuracy. The acquisition will enable Microchip to develop cost-effective, large-scale edge deployment components for computer vision applications and significantly increase the AI/ML processing capabilities of mid- to low-end FPGAs.
