TSMC faces competitive pressure, AMD turns to Samsung for 3nm foundry support

As TSMC's 3nm technology has been fully booked by customers such as Apple and Qualcomm, AMD is seeking to strengthen its partnership with Samsung. AMD focuses on the research and development of server central processing units (CPUs) and expands its business in the field of AI accelerators. Last year, the two parties signed a multi-year cooperation extension agreement to introduce AMD's high-performance Radeon graphics capabilities to Samsung's Exynos application processors. In addition, Samsung also agreed to provide AMD with services such as HBM chips.
