The key role of high-precision positioning modules in autonomous driving systems

228
In the autonomous driving system, the high-precision positioning module plays a vital role. It is responsible for providing the vehicle's current exact location information, enabling the system to perform the tasks of "where to go" and "how to go". At present, the mainstream high-precision positioning module mainly adopts the GNSS+IMU+RTK solution, in which GNSS is used to obtain the approximate location of the vehicle, and then the RTK technology is used to perform precise calculations to obtain the vehicle's exact location. At the same time, in the absence of GNSS signals, the IMU will perform position calculations based on previous positioning information to ensure continuous and accurate tracking of the vehicle's position.
